Building: Day #22
Jose, the welder arrived bright and early this day.
The parts for the top of the steel columns were assembled together.
With an angle blade the threaded rods attached to the foundation were cut down to the minimum height.
Mounting the floor boards…
…as well as cutting and mounting the remaining OSB sheets for the outter walls.
The inset of insulation into the walls continues….
Twister?….it can be a tricky game of balance while maneuvering through the building.
Long construction nails were used for setting up the window sills…here the final ones are going into place.
Checking that the boards are level….
Anti-corrosive paint is applied to all the steel tubes and fittings…these should be the last ones.
The building is really coming together….picture taken from the back.
More work on the slide….
The final OSB boards were cut and mounted onto the top of the roof.
Our hands get pretty dirty during building….
Polishing down the concrete foundations and preparation for drilling of holes for the threaded rods….
More electrical wires are being installed into the walls.
After the concrete foundation was drilled and dusted, four threaded rods were inserted.
Building on two levels is interesting. We had a few people working on the roof this day.
Snack time! Cut up fruit and sorbet. Perfect on a hot day.
The work on both the stairs continues. We have been even testing the panels out on one of the facades of the staircase.
Will it hold? Testing the strength of the staircase.
